The freshmen class at St. Laurence High School were involved in a service project as part of their retreat day. In response to an urgent need at the local animal shelter, the students volunteered to make blankets for animal cages at the shelter. With little to no experience, the students quickly learned the art of making a no-sew blanket from two different patterns of fleece as well as making doggie chew toys. As a result of their diligence, nearly 100 blankets, bedding and toys were donated to the animal shelter to help calm the overcrowded population.
