The CM Chorale i
Students
The CM Chorale is a select group of students who lead the music at our regular all-school Masses at Catholic Memorial School in West Roxbury, MA.
They sing a range of liturgical music, often a cappella, and are featured here singing the classic American hymn “Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling.” This video is from a live performance at a festival of men’s choruses at the Roxbury Latin School in November, 2023. Senior Chris Boensel is the soloist. They also perform music from a wide range of other styles, from folksongs, to Broadway, to pop.

Dr. Michael Monroe
Professor
Dr. Michael Monroe has been director of music at Catholic Memorial School for six years. He directs the choir, oversees music for liturgies, teaches music theory and general music, and serves as music director for our annual musicals. He has led CM performances of Oliver!, Little Shop of Horrors, Camelot, Guys and Dolls, The Pirates of Penzance, and is currently rehearsing this year’s March 2024 production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
