Let us remember that God is here with our in this holy place.

In the name of our creator, redeemer and sanctifier.

PRAYER

We pray that we may be filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, to lead a life worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to God.

May we be strengthened with all power, according to God’s glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Creator, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Colossians 19ff

GOD’S WORD

As they went on their way, a man said to Jesus:

Follower #1     "I will follow you wherever you go."

JESUS             "Foxes have holes, and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lie down and rest. Follow me."

Follower # 2     "Sir, first let me go back and bury my father."

JESUS             "Let the dead bury their own dead. You go and proclaim the Kingdom of God."

Follower # 3     "I will follow you, sir; but first let me go and say good-bye to my family."

JESUS             "Anyone who starts to plow and then keeps looking back is of no use for the Kingdom of God."

After this the Lord chose another seventy-two and sent them out two by two, to go ahead of him to every town and place where he himself was about to go. He said to them,

JESUS             "There is a large harvest, but few workers to gather it in. Pray to the owner of the harvest that he will send out workers to gather in the harvest.

                    Luke 9:57-10:3

REFLECTION

Lord, to whom shall we go?

For you alone have words of eternal life.

Your words, O Lord, are a feast for my soul;

Your Word is my hope of salvation.

Your words, O Lord, are my light and my hope;

Your Word is my hope of salvation.

Your words, O Lord, are my strength and my shield;

Your word is my hope of salvation.

BLESSING AND PRAYER FOR A COMMUNITY OR MINISTRY

We thank our God every time we remember you, constantly praying with joy in every one of our prayers for all of you [add names, schools, etc.], because of our sharing in the gospel from the first day until now.

We am confident of this, that the one who began a good work among us will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ.

It is right for us to think this way, because you hold us in your heart, for all of you share in God’s grace with us, both in our [name ideals for the school, and dreams for the community].

For God is our witness, how we long for all of you with the compassion of Christ Jesus.

And this is our prayer, that your love may overflow more and more with knowledge and full insight to help you to determine what is best, so that in the day of Christ you may be pure and blameless, having produced the harvest of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ for the glory and praise of God.
