DEEPENING SPIRITUALITY
OF
THE HEART OF BEING
BROTHER
Isaiah 42
REFLECTION
Opening Hymn: Healing
is Your Touch
(Margaret Rizza)
Isaiah 42:
God's Servant Will Set Everything Right
Take
a good look at my servant. I'm backing him to the hilt. He's the one I
chose, and I couldn't be more pleased with him. I've bathed him with my
Spirit, my life. He'll set everything right among the nations. He won't
call attention to what he does with loud speeches or gaudy parades. He
won't brush aside the bruised and the hurt and he won't disregard the
small and insignificant, but he'll steadily and firmly set things right.
He won't tire out and quit. He won't be stopped until he's finished his
work--to set things right on earth. Far-flung ocean islands wait
expectantly for his teaching."
QUIET
From your experience
over the past week ...
What has your prayer been like?
What do you hear your God, deep
with you, saying to you?
SHARING
After some time of quiet, in a
trustful way, share the fruit of your reflection.
INTENTIONS
Pray your personal
intentions aloud.
CLOSING
Heavenly God, you inspired Blessed Edmund to open his
heart to Christ present in those oppressed by poverty and injustice. In
the power of your Holy Spirit, grant that we may follow his example of
faith and generosity as we seek to live lives of service and love. We ask
this through Jesus, our brothers, who lives and reigns with you, for ever
and ever. Amen. |
