Opening Prayer

 

Creator God, our origin and guide,

gifts without measure flow from your goodness

to bring us your peace.

Our life is your daily gift.

Guide our life’s journey,

for only your love makes us whole.

Keep us strong in your love.

We ask this through Christ our brother. Amen.

(A plate or bowl of short scripture passages are on the prayer table. Each person takes one scripture card and spends time on quiet reflection as the gift of God's love for them this day. Sample passages should be prepared ahead of time.)

(After a few minutes of quiet, people may share about the gift of the scripture they received.)

Our God around us, you give us the strength of continuous new life

by the daily gifts you bestow upon us.

Keep us safe in your love

and forgive our sins when we have fallen

and restore us to life in you.
