Prayer Resources on the Internet

The Baltimore catechism defined prayer as "lifiting the mind and heart to God." Sounds easy, doesn't it? In a way it is, but the cultivation of prayer is a bit like cultivating a friendship. It takes time and commitment. It also may have its ups and downs.

Charles Keating wrote a book called "Who we are is how we pray." The title says it all. There is no particular method of prayer which will be helpful for everyone. Our personality (and this particular book uses the Myers-Briggs classifications) will have a great influence on what methods of prayer an individual will find profitable.

People have used many different resources to aid them in prayer. Some use the Psalms. Others use the Divine Office, the "official prayer of the church". Some find God in a beautiful sunset, a landscape, some other aspect of nature, art, or music. In the age of the Internet, why not consider praying with your computer? Here are some links to Internet sites which try to lead you into prayer. Try exploring them.
